"Bravo BiBo!"
Here is a place which places authenticity ahead of appealing to the masses, hence some of the negative comments. That is very refreshing and if they survive (past the initial trendy new restaurant phase) it is a sign that Vancouver is finally starting to come of age. Its owners are as authentically Italian as their food. People will either love them or hate them for it and i am sure they will take in their stride. I say to them, if you cave to the pressure and compromise, you will defeat the whole point of your mission, become part of the crowd (but without the marketing budget) and be gone in a year. But if stick to your guns, those who love you will get the word out and you will have a great long term business. So keep the pizzas soggy but delicious, keep the winelist short but bang on the money and keep the attitude and enjoy “la dolce vita”. Ciao.
